Helping you live more comfortably in your home means making sure your carpet stands up to what your family dishes out.
Basic Carpet Maintenance
Invest in a few doormats for your home's entrances. This small step will reduce the amount of dirt and other particles that can get tracked inside your home and will prolong your carpet for years to come.
Plan to vacuum your new carpet regularly! Aside from removing any pet hair or other allergens from the room, vacuuming gets rid of dirt and dust in your carpet's fibers that could make it dull over time.
Carpet Spills & Stains
If you have a spill or stain on your carpet, follow these steps.
Absorb the spill with a white cloth as soon as possible. You should only blot, don't rub or scrub. Don't use a dark cloth.
Add some warm (not hot) water on the spot and continue to blot with a different white towel. Continue repeating this process until the stain is gone. Make sure to blot the carpet firmly until you get as much water out as possible.
The last step in this carpet cleaning process is to massage the carpet fibers with your fingers gently--don't scrub or rub too hard.
If the spot is still there after completing this process, call a professional for help.
